At Ascension Martial Arts, We Offer Two Program Levels for Kids to Learn and Grow into Martial Arts

Little Dragons (Ages 4-6)

Our Little Dragons program teaches the fundamentals of martial arts in a fun and engaging way that is developmentally appropriate for their age.

Along with basic martial arts skills and etiquette, students will also learn how to follow instructions and work with others while gaining confidence in their abilities and having fun.

The pace of the class keeps student’s minds and bodies engaged for the duration of the class. The instructors know how children learn best at this age and break down the skills so that they are easy to understand and remember.

Dragons (Ages 7-12)

Our Dragons program is where many students start their journey in martial arts training.

In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of martial arts and progress at their own pace, gaining skills and confidence in their abilities in and out of martial arts classes. Students will build upon basic skills and learn more complex techniques with an emphasis on focus and etiquette.

Classes are engaging and paced to match the energy level of the students. Students are challenged both physically and mentally while having fun with fellow students.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best age for my child to start martial arts?
Beginners can typically start at 4 years of age in our Little Dragons program. We do recommend signing up for our free trial, in which we can get a sense of your child’s physical capability and the ability to follow instructions and directions. The trial will also give you a chance to see what the program entails and whether it is right for you and your family. All children must be potty trained.
How do you deal with aggressive or bullying behavior?
Our expectation of proper conduct is firm, in and outside of our school. We train our students to use the martial arts to avoid physical confrontation and to defend themselves physically if necessary, but not to be a bully. Using our skills to intentionally hurt others can get you quickly expelled from our program.
Are classes at Ascension Martial Arts safe during COVID?
Yes! We are taking every possible precaution to ensure our students safety during COVID. Our staff is cleaning and disinfecting all touchpoints between classes. Staff and students wear masks and are distanced properly during all classes.
